Day 5: December

Goodness, it is December 8th! As a child, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed to last FOR...EVERRRRRR. Now I feel claustrophobic as the 25th draws nearer. Each prized hot cocoa sipping, carol singing, goody eating moment seems to be slipping through my fingers like sand. STOP!
Meanwhile, this little chunk has been changing and growing like a weed. Elisha took to crawling very quickly in early November and now pulls up on everything. He even walks along tables and sofas....or the piano. He loves playing the piano. He seriously gets so much joy from pulling up on the piano bench and from the first sound of the keys he starts beaming. I love it. He also has start talking all of the time. He has this very consistent language of his own that sounds like German sometimes. His "real words" that we can decipher are: "Mama," "Dada" and "hey." Just this week he is beginning to copy us with movements and noises too. He dances to music. He understands (and OBEYS!) "No!" and "No touch."
Overall, this little sweet lovin' is blowing my mind. I love him too pieces and can't be more thankful.

This was taken the day he had his 9month well-check...weighing in at 20lbs and 28.5 in.

Can't kiss those sweet cheeks enough!

Quick Note...

Just a quick update on the little man. God was SO gracious with Elisha's surgery. I can't list all of the blessings but here are some of them: no fussing all the way to ATL without nursing, smooth surgery, nice doctors/nurses/etc, he is healing up well, he slept all the way home, Momma and Ashley came and blessed us with lunch, Elisha and I went to St. Simons on a retreat and he did beautifully, the night we got back from ATL he was crawling all over and pulling up and laughing....you really wouldn't know this baby had surgery! THANK YOU LORD! I've been praying for months and God was merciful to answer with a smooth experience. Granted, I was praying that his deet-deet would drop on its own....but nevertheless it is down now and I am thankful.

Day 4: October

October is so exciting with all of its festivities, food, and loved ones. Whether we were gathering around a fire, celebrating the Reformation or simply sitting at the dinner table, this month has been lovely. One day last week I took Elisha outside for some pumpkin pictures. They turned out super cute. He is such a sweetie pie. Love to all!

Lately Elisha is...
*Crawling everywhere
*Pulling up to stand
*Loving food...anything and everything
*Being a little cranky because of a 5th tooth
*"Talking" all of the time :D
*Getting ready for a little procedure (orchiopexy) on Nov. 6th (unless the Lord intervenes! I have been praying every night since he was born that it would drop...there's still time, Lord!)

Day 3: Famous Faces

Hello. Elisha here. A couple of nights ago I woke up after only a few hours of sleep. Mom and Dad weren't too happy at first but then I made them laugh a lot and it got better. Here is the video they took of me after I had already gotten all my giggles out. Being up at 1a.m. is fun. If I were a grown up I would do it all the time!   (ignore my dad's armpit  in the beginning)

This is my neighbor and friend, Claudia. She's pretty. She makes me smile really big. I like to play at her house sometimes when Mommy teaches dance.

 This is Mommy. Enough said.

This is Emily! She is almost my size :D She lives in Israel now!

This is my Pops, his bff Stuart, me, my bff Owen, and sweet little G-love.

This is my Nonny. She loves me.

Um....I'm not sure who this person is.

Daddy again. Generally we both have our mouths wide open. What? You can talk when it's closed.

Aunt Cindy is my great aunt!

 Livia Satterfield. The faceoff.

I got to meet my mommy's friend Hannah. <3

And lastly, MISS LEIGH. She taught my mommy everything she knows about cutting up a rug. I still don't know why they would do that though. Anyway, the little girl is Emma....my mom babysat Emma when she was younger than me! And now Emma gets to meet me...pretty cool, huh?

Welp. These are just a few of the MANY special people in my life. More will come. Nighty night!

Day 2: thankfulness and...nursery pictures!

This morning the A. Freel's woke up to some delicious smelling fall, in the form of pear butter, cooking down in the crock . I love how cool the mornings have been lately. Our little family gets up, Mommy cooks, Daddy dresses and Elisha has his coffee. Basically. Yeah, I think that's how it goes.
Living on Boulevard has been such a blessing. The Lord seems to be bringing us out of the valley and I am thankful. As Elisha took his first nap today I spent a little time outside cleaning up the herb garden and picking a few peppers that have survived. After some time the Cogbil's wondered down to the playground. Soon Sweet Claudia emerged and we talked about plans for the day. The crisp air faded in the mid-morning sun as I left the yard for some dish washing. I am thankful for this time and place, Lord. I am also thankful that, though small, signs of fall have begun. Signs of hot ciders and cocoa. Signs of scarves. Signs of Orange Oreos making their way off of store shelves and into my tummy.

Here are a few pictures of where we live and Elisha's nursery.

A little bird's nest in my flower pot.

 Our Front door.

I apologize that the picture quality is terrible. and the photography isn't great either. but here is the nursery.

My glider from Nonny that I LOVE to sit in...and read night night stories....

Well, it's "Naked Time" down here on the farm and Elisha is keeping it real. So's we will see ya later!

Day 1

I am creating this blog for the friends and family that would like to keep up with the the A Freel clan. Each time I have ditched some source of social media I get an ear full : D. So, here is my peace offering. Take it or leave it, but Elisha will be gracing this blog periodically for your satisfaction. And even though I would prefer sending snail-mail and actual prints of the little chunk, stamps are pricey when it comes to updating the entire list of Black, Alexander, and Freel families...and of course friends as well. This is Day 1 of Elisha. Love you all!
Here is a pictoral re-cap of Elisha Neil Freel from birth to now (7 months!):
